Review: Jurassic Tower by Jethro Wegener

A top-secret lab in the heart of the city…Starling Labs, Manhattan. One hundred floors of top-secret research labs staffed by the world’s best and brightest. An experiment that goes horribly wrong… As the building goes into lockdown, an elite team led by Special Agent Alexa Rojas is sent in to find out what’s happened. None of them are prepared for the horrors that they’re about to face. Rojas and her team are about to experience a battle of Jurassic proportions. A building filled with prehistoric terrors… Starling Labs has been thrown back in time. Dinosaurs roam the halls. Jungles have taken over entire floors. The bodies of the dead litter the floors. And in the basement of the building, a bomb that could level Manhattan ticks down to zero. To save the city and themselves, the team will face a fight for survival none of them were prepared for.

You know, sometimes I just want some fun dinosaur action in my bookish life. I always head over to Severed Press when I’m searching for something new and epic. They rarely disappoint me with their books. πŸ˜€

Jurassic Tower caught my eye. Beautiful cover. I’d never read anything by this author before, but the plot sounded like a blast! I was NOT disappointed!

This is a super fun, super quick novella. Great pacing. The story gets straight to the CRAZY right off the bat. The low is perfect. There is rarely a slow moment. The whole story flows just so seamlessly.

I loved the main characters! The humans all have great chemistry together. Felt like a real group of teammates. Loved the banter between all of them. The author does a good job making me feel for the group as they face life and death.

Now——- DINOSAURS!!!! WOOOOOOOO! Yessssss! So. Much. Action. Dino action that is!! Lots of toothy carnage. Plenty of blood. Not your usual dinosaurs either, which was pretty cool, but don’t worry, some all time faves show up as well. πŸ˜€

Jurassic Tower, it seems is the start of a new series, maybe?? Great! πŸ˜€ I’d love to revisit these characters again. But, because of that (it being a book # 1), there are a few unanswered questions at the end. There is a little bit of confusion…. not sure if they were plot holes or vague in order to leave you hooked for book 2? I guess we will (hopefully) find out!

Even with a few vague details and unanswered questions, this was a fun novella. The characters are a joy to hang out with and there is so much awesome dinosaure action. It is really hard to be upset with Jurassic Tower. πŸ™‚ I really hope this is a series. I would really like to see this universe again. πŸ˜€ Fun, fun, fun.
